Round 1 Representative Sport

In very wet conditions we commenced our Winter Sport Fixtures for 2024. The majority of our fixtures were able to go ahead despite the weather and in Football we won 5 out of their 8 matches played at home. Well done to those students who played in their first representative team on Saturday. Special mention to three Year 4 students in particular who stayed behind after their 4A Football match and played for the 5C team who were short players due to sickness. Well done Mason, Gus and Moos.

Most of our Netball matches were able to go ahead and given the number of new students to this sport we had some great results, but more importantly showed excellent potential for growth. Hockey had 1 win and 1 loss away and like Netball the girls excelled in what is a new sport for most of them.

Some reminders for both families and students;

  • If your child is sick night before or morning of please complete the online absence form through Pulse so their coach is aware of it and can make modifications.
  • Please be in correct playing kit and at the venue 30min prior to kick off time
  • Please allow time for travel and parking as Saturday morning traffic for both club and school sport has been compared to midweek peak hour traffic.
  • Let’s continue to create a culture of thanks, students to individually thank their coaches before their departure after the post-game huddle.

Cross Country Carnival The Cross Country Carnival which will take place on Tuesday 14 May for all Junior School students. The carnival will be held at St Leonards Park, St Leonards. We will have full access to the entire Park and students will enjoy an open and challenging course. Each student will complete the course twice (two laps) to achieve 2.0km total distance.

Our aim is for this to be a fun experience for everyone on the day but also provide a great experience and challenge for those aiming to progress to HICES and CIS where the courses present many different challenges. Upon arrival at the venues students in each grade will be divided into two groups (Boys Championship Race and a Girls Championship Race) which will run as separate events.

After the event the result will be sorted into age groups with the top 5 runners in boys and the top 5 runners in girls in each age group will make up the Redlands team that will participate at the HICES Carnival in Bathurst on the 21 May.

Please refer to our Cross-Country Carnival page on Pulse for all information relating to this carnival.

Our intranet, Redlands Pulse, is the first port of call for all Junior School Sport related enquiries. A video has been produced to show you how to navigate through Pulse. You can view this short video here.

Redlands Pulse -The Junior School Sport pages on Redlands Pulse will continue to be the ‘source of truth’ for all information relating to sport this term. Sport Information Booklet

For all Sport information regarding what sports we offer when, how to navigate our documents, as well as information on Uniforms and Carnivals please refer to our Parent Information Booklet on Pulse.

Wednesday Sport Inability to Train

If your child has an injury that prevents them from training, please send through an email to Junior Sport juniorsport@redlands.nsw.edu.au requesting they ‘sit out’ of training for that particular session. We can then forward this to the relevant external coaching staff. Where applicable please include when they can return to normal training, so coaches are aware of this. That way coaching staff are aware of an injury that prevents them from participating at the venue but also allows us to be aware of periods where they are medically required to ‘sit out’.

Representative Sport Student Absence

If students are absent on match day, parents are required to complete this online absence form. This will allow your responses to be passed on electronically to your child’s coach efficiently and at short notice. The Student Absence link can also be found on the Junior School Sport Page on Redlands Pulse.

Please don’t hesitate to view our Sport Information page on Redlands Pulse if you have any questions pertaining to Sport.
