Sports Prizegiving Assembly
Both Mr Sharma and I would like to extend our gratitude to everyone who made this week’s Sport prize giving assembly a success. The students’ enthusiasm, dedication and outstanding performances over the course of the year have truly made this event memorable. Congratulations to all the award winners for their hard work and exceptional achievements. Their commitment to excellence is commendable and sets a high standard for others to follow. We also want to take a moment to acknowledge those who may not have received an award. Your effort, sportsmanship and determination have not gone unnoticed. It is your passion and commitment that contribute to the overall success of our Sports program, be it our Non-Representative program or our Representative program. Thank you for being an essential part of our journey, and let’s continue to support and uplift each other in the spirit of sportsmanship for Redlands Junior School Sport.

Thanks Coach!!
As we conclude another sports term, students are encouraged to foster a culture of gratitude within both the Representative and Non-Representative Sports programs. This involves expressing appreciation to their coaches in representative teams, acknowledging supervising staff on Wednesday Sports, recognising coaching staff in Non-Representative sports, as well as showing gratitude to drivers, medical staff, and their foremost supporter – their parents and carers.
Could you please remind your child to take a moment to convey their thanks to coaches, either this Saturday at the final Girls Basketball match or next Wednesday during the last session of Term 4 Sport. It was heartening to witness some students on Saturday expressing their gratitude to coaches for their guidance and efforts, having coached them since Term 1. However, it’s noted that this acknowledgment wasn’t universal across all teams, sports and individuals.
In a period when schools in Sydney are grappling with challenges in attracting and retaining sports coaches post-Covid, it is important for us to uphold the high standards of coaching. A timely reminder to your child would be beneficial, prompting them to personally thank their coaches when they see them on Wednesday. For those inclined to express gratitude in writing, we have Sport thank-you cards available at the Sports Office which your child can come and collect.
On behalf of the Junior School Sport department, we extend our thanks for your continued support in our Representative Sports program. Please enjoy the video that has been shared previously.
The final round for Girls Basketball is this week and we wish those students involved the best as for most of them this will be their final time representing Redlands in Junior School Sport. Below are a few key dates coming up for your reference;
- Saturday 25 November is our final round for Girls Basketball. Basketball singlets will be collected on Monday 27 November due to lack of access to change rooms at venues.
- Your child’s Term 4 Summer Sport (Non-Rep and Rep Sport) will continue with the final date for Wednesday Sport being 29 November.
