Junior Sport

The final round for mixed Basketball, Touch Football and Tennis are this week and we wish those students involved the best as for most of them this will be their final time representing Redlands in Junior School Sport. Below are a few key dates coming up for your reference;

  • Saturday 18 November is our final round for our mixed Touch, Basketball and Tennis teams. Please note Basketball singlets will be collected on the last match at the conclusion of your child’s match. Your child will need to bring a spare T-Shirt to wear home. Touch singlets will be collected on Monday 20 November due to lack of access to change rooms at venue.
  • Tuesday 21 November is our sports prizegiving assembly during school hours – no external guests or parents.
  • Saturday 25 November is our final round for Girls Basketball. Basketball singlets will be collected on Monday 27 November due to lack of access to change rooms at venues.
  • Your child’s Term 4 Summer Sport (Non-Rep and Rep Sport) will continue with the final date for Wednesday Sport being 29 November.

The sport calendar for Term 4 onwards is available online on Junior School Sport Page. You can also view it by selecting here; 2023 JS Sport Calendar

Redlands App- Communication

In Term 4, all Redlands Sport Activities will continue to be through Pulse and the Redlands App.  Here you will be able to see all activities, teams and groups your child is part of, all scheduled lessons and locations and receive instant push notifications for any changes or cancellations.

Representative Sport Student Absence

If students are absent on match day, parents are required to complete this online absence form. This will allow your responses to be passed on electronically to your child’s coach efficiently and at short notice. The Student Absence link can also be found on the Junior School Sport Page on Redlands Pulse.

Representative Sports- Saturday Morning Match Wear

Just a reminder for all families who represent Redlands in Saturday sport only Redlands Sports Uniforms and match day kit is to be worn. Each family should own either a school tracksuit and or a fleece that they can wear over the top of their playing kit if they are cold. Any incorrect item will now be confiscated as all students have received the same message.

Representative Sport Team Movement

In regard to representative sport and the movement of players across ability-based teams, it is transparent for all parties as unexplained team movements sometimes cause unnecessary stress. At Redlands our teams are ‘fluid’, meaning teams may change from week to week depending on 3 main criteria:

  • ABILITY: in direct comparison to other students across the sport
  • ATTENDANCE: any student who misses 2 games in a season unrelated to sickness may be moved
  • ATTITUDE: this is based on behaviour at trainings, on game day and not limited to the sporting arena

Please don’t hesitate to view our Sport Information page on Redlands Pulse if you have any questions pertaining to Sport.
