Summer Sport
Wednesday summer sports have begun and with beautiful warm sunshine spring weather, our teams got off to a great start.
Basketball has begun and skills and drills sessions will be running in Dunnet Hall each Monday, Wednesday and Friday mornings before school 7.15- 8.00am. It’s great to start the school day with a workout and sessions are available for players in both the mixed and girls programs. It’s bound to help too, more practice and time with ball in hand will always help to build skills. Our coaches are there and ready.
NSNA Netball
Lightning played havoc with our Grand Final Netball teams last Friday. In one of the only rained out cancellations, both of our teams unfortunately were deemed runners up for the competition after a severe electrical storm circled the courts before, on and then just after game time. It was a sad way to end an exciting week and fabulous season, but I was very proud and amazed to see such great sportsmanship from our girls, who accepted that tough decision on the chin and were all smiles as the presentations went ahead.
These two Netball teams were a true reminder of why we play school sport; fun and friendship, and to learn some skills and fitness. I know they are very proud of their achievements this season and without doubt, so am I. It was great to see so many Redlands faces down at Willoughby in the wild weather to support the girls. Class teachers, students, friends and siblings were out in force.
HICES Athletics Reps
Redlands athletes hit the track at CIS this week. Results and photos coming next week in Note Day.
The Term 4 draw for IPSHA Sports is in final draft and will be available next week. Our Cricket, Basketball and Tennis teams all begin fixtures on 20 October and play six matches through to the end of November. Details are coming.
Photos
We love photos and showing off your great action shots from sports fixtures on Saturday. If anyone has any pics or takes any, I love to use them to showcase our current teams and past teams on the rolling display in Dunnet Hall. Please send me the pics, or a link or even pop them in on a USB (it will be returned) to the Sports Office or email them.
