Junior Sport
Week 3
In what proved to be a beautiful Saturday we got under way with our Representative Sports Program with all matches taking place. Our newest students to the Junior School started their Representative Sport career with all of our Year 3 and Year 4 teams securing a win in Football. Our Year 5 and Year 6 Tennis team played some great single and double matches and securing a big win over Kings. Our mixed Basketball had a great start to their season playing at home and winning 4 from 6 teams. The teams also looked great in their new uniform. A reminder for those families to purchase the new basketball shorts if you have not done so already. Our Touch Football teams played two tough sides from Waverley and secured a win in the A team and a draw for the B team.
Some housekeeping matters from Saturday sport, Round 1 to focus on for Round 2;
- Check Summer Sport team lists on Wednesday night for team changes
- Players in be in full uniform (Redlands apparel only) with water bottle left next to coach’s kit bag prior to kick off
- Meet coach 30min prior to start time
- The final match at home requires that Basketball team to assist in packing up Dunnet Hall at the conclusion of the game
- Players to stay thank you to coaches at the end of each game and to give 3 cheers for the opposition.
As outlined last week, the draw (Saturday morning matches) for coaches, parents and staff will be ‘live’ in nature and will be available via this link which allows you to filter the draw by sport and even team. Sport draws and changes are never emailed to parents and due to changes that may come through, please do not print out. When changes to times and or grounds come through from host schools during the week these will automatically update this draw on your device. I have also included the addresses of the venues within the host school to save time and stress once you arrive at a venue with 25 playing fields and you have to find Field 1b. Please spend some time navigating and saving this document on your phone or device.
