We are now halfway the term and in regard to sport can I draw your attention to some dates that can be found in the Junior School Sport Calendar.
Saturday 12 November – Round 11 Summer Sport for Touch, Tennis, Mixed Basketball,
Girls Basketball Round 5
Saturday 19 November – Round 12 Summer Sport Final round for Touch, Tennis, Mixed Basketball
Girls Basketball Round 6
Tuesday 22 November– Sports Prizegiving Assembly
Wednesday 23 November– Final morning for Representative Basketball Year 3&4 skills 7:00am-8:00am
Final Wednesday Summer Sport Session for all Term 4 Sports (Rep & Non Rep)
Friday 25 November– Final morning for Rep Basketball Year 5&6 skills and RepTouch Football Skills 7:00am-8:00am
Saturday 26 November– Girls Basketball Round 7
Wednesday 30 November– Junior School students all on site for sport
A Culture of Thanks
“Silent thanks isn’t much use to anyone”
I spoke to the Junior School students at assembly on Tuesday about the importance of saying thank you as we approach the end of our season. If your child is involved in Saturday sport thanks to their coaches, thanks to the teacher who supervise our Non Rep sports on a Wednesday, thanks to the opposition and referees on match day. Design a card, write a note, shake their hand. And I hope they take the opportunity to thank you for driving them, feeding them and supporting them in their sporting fields.
Redlands Pulse
The Junior School Sport pages on Redlands Pulse will continue to be the ‘source of truth’ for all information relating to sport this term. As you would be aware we have switched over to our new look Pulse later last term which allows more functionality and more positive user interaction. I am asking that if parents have an enquiry relating to sport that your first port of call will be the Junior School Sport section of Redlands Pulse.

Wet Weather – Wednesday Sport
In the case of wet weather on a Wednesday, updates will be posted on our Wet Weather Pulse page. If you pick your child up directly at the venue, please refer to this page prior to going to ensure that they are at the venue as alternative plans may have been made depending on the location, weather and provider. Late changes to venues, times and staffing are shown in red font.

Right place, Right time, Right equipment -It is our aim for all Redlands Junior School Students to follow these 3 guidelines when they are playing sport, be it Representative Sport or Non-Representative Sport. In the processes we have put in place all digital documents that will assist you in achieving these three things.
2023 CIS Nomination – Current Yr 4 or 5 Students Only
There are some sports that Redlands do not have a pathway through in our competition (IPSHA) but allow us to participate in at a higher level. For these sports we are still invited to nominate students to attend if they are proficient in this sport. Please be aware that NSW CIS is one level below NSW Selection and as such is a very high skill level for those student athletes who attend.
CIS Nominations are only available for those students in Year 5 and 6 in 2023
The nomination for this process is via a ‘paper trial’ in lieu of a physical trial in the particular sport.

PLEASE NOTE: Where there is an over subscription of responses for a particular sport (some sports cap the number of students per school permitted to attend the trial) they will be lodged based on the order of receipt.
