End of Rugby and Football Season
This week is the FINAL Wednesday training session for RUGBY and FOOTBALL students from grade 3 through to 6. They have their last game of the season this Saturday and we wish them the best of luck as they wrap up their season. Our Wednesday and Friday Rugby and Football sessions also conclude. As you would be aware next Wednesday (10 August) is our Junior School Athletics Carnival for all students so there is no sport that day.
The following week Wednesday sport continues as normal for all students (what they have been doing for the last two weeks) with the exception of RUGBY and FOOTBALL students. These will be commencing their program of Multisport on Wednesdays until the end of Term 3 at Gore Hill Oval at St Leonards, it will be a normal return time back at school by 320pm.
All football and Rugby students have been divided into mixed grade teams and more information will be distributed after the Athletics Carnival. Summer sport uniform and joggers are the uniform for this program.
CIS Selection
Congratulations to Lauren Rolfe (Yr 6) who was selected in the NSW CIS Softball team during in the week. Lauren now prepares for the NSW PSSA championships and we wish her and the CIS team the best of success there.
Winter Gala Day Saturday 20 August
This is the last call for any students who are interested in participating in our Winter Football Gala Day (Saturday 20 August) to sign up now. We play small sided Football matches on Redlands Oval on the day in staggered grades. If your child is interested, please register them here.
The house teams for this event are open to all Junior School Students, regardless if you play a Representative Sport, Non-Representative Sport, Winter Sport, Summer sport for the school. If you are in a house (which you all are) you can register to play, that simple.
While this initiative is optional, I would encourage all students to take part as it will be a nice way to connect with peers in house groups. The day proved extremely popular last year and hopefully this year will be the same.
Format
- Every house team in each grade will play 3 games in their timeslot against house teams in their same grade. Each game is 15min long with no half time.
- Coaching staff will look after each house ensuring all players get time on the field.
- Each grade will only be on site for approximately 1 hour (exception being Year 6) to complete their scheduled matches.
- Year 3, 4 and 5 will play small sided games on the mini fields
- Year 6 will play on the full field with reduced numbers, 9 players per side
- Finals for Year 6 will take place based on the all the previous grades results.
- Overall house points from the day will be added to the running total which Mr Guha will announce in our next assembly
For more information, please refer to the note that was emailed to you previously. A copy can also be found on the sports pages of Pulse.

Want to play Club Cricket?
There is an external team made up of some Redlands students who are about to register in Mosman Cricket looking for some more Year 5 Redlands boys to join their team.
