Sports Prize Giving

On Wednesday we held our annual Sports Prize Giving Assembly where we recognised the efforts of our students involved in our Representative Sports Program during 2021. With current COVID guidelines we held the assembly virtually with prize-winners learning of their nomination while in class watching with their peers which was an exciting element not conducted before. The awards were nominated by the coaches of each sport and their respective teams over the duration of the season. Realistically Sports Prize Giving is a day where we can only present to a few but is where we acknowledge all.It has long been thought that the many facets of playing sport—the discipline of training, learning teamwork, following the leadership of coaches and captains, learning to lose—provide lifelong skills for athlete. If Redlands students can take one of these facets away as a result of playing sport this year then score lines, wins and losses, become irrelevant.

Whether your child received an award or not at our assembly there is a definite need to realise that if they put 100% into their efforts at Sport this year than that knowledge and recognition is far greater that the trophies that they saw in the hands of their classmate upon their return to the classroom.

For your viewing the same presentation can be viewed here. It is 20min in duration. 2021 Prizegiving

Redlands Ninja Course

On Saturday we had over 250 students register and attend our inaugural Redlands Ninja Course on Saturday. Students competed in their houses over two 20 min sessions to see how many times they could complete the course in that time.

Each point represents one student from that house who finished the course in the 40 min session which was sprint, prone hold, frisbee toss, crab walk, bowling, agility ladders with the large inflatables being stations #7 and #8. The giant wall was a highlight for these grades.

Overall winner was Roseby !!
