Junior Sport

IPSHA Sports

There are no IPSHA fixtures this weekend. Matches recommence in Week 1 of Term 3.

NSNA Netball

Final round of matches for the term is this Friday. It’s also Redlands turn to do the duty at Willoughby Leisure Centre. Thanks to all those parents who have offered to assist. Ms Michael will be at Willoughby to coordinate all our volunteers, so please just track her down if you need guidance this Friday.

NSWPSSA Girls Football Representative

Sports Captain Jasmine Black always represents Redlands with a smile. Last week she went further afield, representing NSWCIS with a smile at the NSWPSSA Championships in Kiama. Despite finishing sixth in the NSW Champs, Jasmine had even more reason to smile – her selection in the NSW Schools team as Goalkeeper! Jasmine is a wonderful footballer and a humble athlete who excels at whatever she tries. She will undoubtedly represent Redlands and CIS well too, with an even bigger smile as she wears the sky blue for NSW at the School Sports Australia Championships in September.

Hockey

Our Junior School Hockey girls finished with a wonderful season record and should be immensely proud of their improvement over the term. Despite experiencing their first loss of the term in their final match for the season against Pymble, they showed great fighting spirit. Threatening to equalise with great pressure and they passed right up until the final whistle. The pics below show some of the great action from a wonderful Hockey season.

AFL

Despite going down to Knox last weekend, the fight amongst our boys was well worth a mention. Knox have been the benchmark this season and our boys took it right to them after a tough first quarter showing great courage, they put their heads over the ball and showed some great strength of character to battle their way back. Isaac Brooks’ hard running and grittiness around the contest was exciting. Lachlan Carmichael was fearless and led the way with his courage and Mitchell Travers-Wolf was exceptional in the backline, racking up tackle after tackle.

Rugby Sevens

Our Yr 3 and 4 Rugby boys finished off the term with two great wins last weekend. Playing three matches back to back is a tough ask, but our young charges managed it with aplomb, bouncing back from an early loss to post two great wins. The team is really coming along and showing some great cohesion and a real willingness to work together and for each other when the tough moments arrive!

Photos

We love photos and showing off your great action shots from Sports fixtures on Saturdays. If anyone has any pics or takes any, I love to use them to showcase our current teams and past teams on the rolling display in Dunnet Hall. Please send me the pics, or a link or even pop them in on a USB (it will be returned) to the Sports Office.
