JUNIOR SPORT Redlands Pulse

 

Round 1 – Winter Sport

In beautiful conditions we commenced our Winter Sport season, exciting for all but especially for our Yr 3 and 4 Netball teams and our Year 5 and 6 Hockey teams who did not have a season last year due to COVID-19.

Team uniforms were on point, sportsmanship was on display, and results were great across the board with all Football, Netball, Hockey teams winning their games. In Rugby our Yrs 5 and 6 teams also secured some wins in their respective games and while our youngest and newest team, our Yrs 3 and 4 Rugby teams, had a loss they certainly showed a lot of potential.

In terms of housekeeping please ensure the following takes place each match day;

  • Arrival in full Redlands Team kit (no other non-Redlands clothing to be worn)
  • Arrive 30 minute warm up prior to scheduled start
  • Drink bottle to go next to coaches kit bag prior to game
  • Required safety equipment – shin pads, mouthguard and boots
  • Parents/spectators to stay off field of play – for Redlands Oval this means viewing the matches from the Piazza outside the canteen

Morning Training Sessions

Well done to all those students who have attend the optional training sessions across the various sports last week. Can you please ensure students are here on time for a 7am start. To make it easier, Footballers can be dropped at the oval gate entrance at 49 Murdoch St.

Cross Country Carnival

As previously advertised the Junior School Cross Country Carnival will take place on Thursday 13 May at the Cammeray Golf Course. All students in Yrs 3-6 will be involved in some capacity. We will be running a staggered format, similar to last year where each Year Group will be transported separately to the course and compete either in the Championship Run or the Fun Run, both the same course and the same distance. CIS Hockey

Congratulations to Otis who has been selected for the CIS Primary Boys hockey team and will go forward with the team to the NSW PSSA Hockey Championships in Newcastle from 25 till 27 May.  

We wish him the best of success at these trials.

Representative Sport Team Lists

For weekly team selections please refer to the Term 2 Winter Sport team lists. These will be updated on Redlands Pulse following each fixture. Please remember that our Redlands Representative teams are fluid, meaning teams may change week to week depending on 3 main criteria: Ability, Attendance and Attitude. Any team movements will be discussed with your child by their coach. Please make a habit of checking these weekly.

Draw

For your ease and convenience, you can view and save the Winter Draw to your phone/device – 2021 Term 2&3 Winter Draw. As it is live and subject to change, please do not print off the draw. We recommend checking back each Friday evening to ensure you have the correct time and venue for the following morning. There may be occasions where host schools change a time or location midweek and when this occurs the draw will be updated.
