Winter Representative Sport Trials
With Yr 5 camp postponed we were able to commence our Winter Sport trials for all grades on Wednesday in beautiful conditions. With a quick turnaround from Basketball, Tennis, Girls Football to Rugby, Hockey, Netball and Mixed Football, the students seem as excited as our coaching staff to get going. The second winter sport trial session takes place this Saturday all on the Junior Campus at various staggered times.
This is compulsory for all students to attend who have nominated a representative sport (Saturday sport) for Winter. If your child is unable to make it, please complete the Sport absence form. Please note that students not in attendance for the second trial will be listed as ‘Yet to Trial’ in the lower team on the team lists that will be uploaded to Redlands Pulse on Saturday afternoon. Once we recommence our Winter season in Week 1 of Term 2, these absentees can be assessed over that week in both training and match and graded appropriately.

Winter Sport Representative Uniform
Please take some time to review what uniforms and safety equipment your child will need for their winter sport. All this information can be found here.
Athletics Carnival
The program for the Athletics Carnival scheduled for Wednesday 31 March is now available for viewing here. Please note the 1500m event is an open event but I would suggest only those students who can comfortably handle that distance along with their other events they may be running on the day should run in this event.
All other track events, as well as discus and turbo javelin, can be entered by students on the day.
Parents are welcome to attend but must remain within the grandstand that has been designated for parents and is shown on the venue map in the program. Can you also please decide on pick up procedures on the day, either at the venue at 2.30pm or back at school. More information about this can be found within the program. We are also asking parents who are in attendance to download the Redlands app as this will be used for the advertisement of events on the day.
Cross Country Carnival Preparation
A reminder that an information pack was emailed to all families two weeks ago outlining the selection criteria for our carnival in Term 2. Please familiarise yourselves with this information and how the two courses on Cross Country are split.

NSW AFL Girls Trials
Congratulations to Lila Soste and Matilda Carlyon who were nominated to attend the NSW AFL trials this week. They were selected by their AFL coaches based on last year’s performance in AFL and we wish them the best of luck.
HICES Football Trials
Congratulations to Nicholas Meagher, Sam Elworthy and Sebastian Gabrielan who were nominated to attend the HICES Football trials next week. They were selected by their Football coaches and our Director of Football based on last year’s performance. We wish them the best of luck in their trials next week
CIS Swimming Championships
Congratulations to all our swimmers who represented HICES last week at the CIS Swimming Championships. This was a selection carnival for the CIS team that will compete at the NSW PSSA Swim. We had our boys and girls relay team who came 7th and 5th respectively in their heats and our individual swimmers had some great swims. While we did not have any Redlands students make it through to NSW PSSA Championships representing CIS, they are to be commended on their efforts and were recognised at this week’s assembly.
