Swimming Carnival

Cowper have once again taken the trophy in a tremendous performance at SOPAC yesterday. Led by House Captains JJ Black and Charlotte Humphreys, the yellow caps were out in force in both pools and cruised to their sixth consecutive House Swimming Championship.

Our Redlands Swimming team will move into Division 1 at the HICES Championships this year after dominating in Division 2 last year. The Redlands team for the HICES Carnival on 6 March will be named and posted on Friday 22 February and students / parents notified of selection by email.

Congratulations to our Age Champions and Runners Up, who excelled in the pool, but also to all the students who just got in and had a go.

Winter Sport Selections

Keep an eye out for an email with your Winter Sport selection coming over the next few days. Despite only just starting our Summer season, we’re planning for the 2019 Winter.

Mouthguard Fittings – Last Chance!

Profit Mouthguards are coming to the Junior School to fit mouthguards. These professionally fitted mouthguards are customised with colours and phone number, will be fitted to your child and be delivered back to school for collection in time for Winter Sport season trainings.

Fitting times are available from 7.15 – 8.30am on Friday 22 February. Please email Mr Carter to confirm a fitting time and be emailed a ProFit client form.

Extra Sports

Don’t forget our great extra sports on offer before and after school. Our Football Skills Squad is an active after school option running on Mondays and Fridays (if there is a squad) with Coach Javier on Redlands House courts.

Basketball

Our Yr 3/4 B team played a ripping second half last week to come away with a nail-biting draw against Knox in Lang Gym. Meanwhile the A team battled hard and despite giving away some height and experience, they showed great tenacity to give themselves a chance.

Best of luck to our trial nominees for the NSWCIS Basketball team, who will tough it out against Independent Schools’ best this Friday for selection to this prestigious team.

Girls’ Football

We desperately need some Yr 6 girls to help out with our team for their Saturday matches this term. Football experience is not essential. Please email acarter@redlands.nsw.edu.au.

Paul Kelly Cup

We have entered boys and girls teams to take part in the Paul Kelly Cup AFL at Gore Hill on 20 March. Sign ups for the Yr 5 and 6 students will be posted in their respective classroom areas this week. It will be the first major carnival at the new Gore Hill facility, which is an exciting time for AFL on the North Shore.
