There has been so much going on in the Secondary School this week. From Student-Led assemblies to Project Rockit to the Ballet and Dance performances taking place at The Concourse, Chatswood, the Senior Campus is a hive of activity.
Careers Framework
We are delighted to share with you our Redlands Careers Framework. This year the focus has been on developing a continuum throughout the School’s Careers program in the Secondary School. The Redlands Careers Framework has been developed by our University and Careers Advisors, Mrs Justine Fowler and Ms Clare Hurst, with feedback and input from the Executive and our Board. We look forward to giving expression to this framework via a wide range of activities and workshops in 2024.
Support for our Yr 9 Entrepreneurs
Last week, Yr 9 participated in an experience project where they were challenged to improve the Christmas experience for people in our communities who are in need of support. One of the student-devised pitches was around the concept of gift boxes for women at Bayside Women’s Shelter. While children are typically the sole focus at Christmas time, our Yr 9 student team elected to focus on the women and mothers who frequently carry the emotional labour of Christmas. Their idea was a curated box put together by Redlands students to let women know that we see them and that they too are deserving of some luxuries.
In a time of seemingly unrelenting stories and statistics about the number of women who experience domestic violence and abuse we are proud to support our Redlands students who are turning despair into tangible action.
To deliver on their project, they are asking for help from the Redlands community. Redlands will collect the funds on their behalf and facilitate the creation of the gift boxes. We will also assist them in personally delivering the boxes to Bayside.
I am looking forward to seeing our sailors in the Redlands Cup Regatta on Saturday and welcoming parents to the following Senior Studies Evening on Monday night.
