The Prep staff and I are excited for our Zoom sessions this evening where we will be discussing key information points around what 2022 will look like for your child this year. The chat function is operational in all the Grade sessions, so please feel free to ask questions along the way. Please note that the sessions will be recorded and placed on Pulse pages for anyone who is unable to join the Zoom sessions. The times and links are as follows:

Prep School class and individual school photos take place next week on Wednesday 16 February. Class and portrait packages will automatically be billed to your school account and sent directly to your contact address. If you do not wish to receive a complete photograph pack, please click here to access Melba’s webpage, and opt out before 11 March 2022. If you have any questions, please contact Melba Studios directly on (02) 9438 4566 or email sales@melbastudios.com.au. If a student is unable to have their photo taken, make up photos will be offered during the Sibling Photo shoot on Friday 25 February, or by appointment with Melba Studios, located in Artarmon.

Uniforms, Hair and Jewellery

People often tell me what a beautiful uniform we have and how smart and proud our students look in their uniforms, I completely agree with them, but already we are starting to see some of our students looking a little scruffy as they walk through the door. I know for little ones it is tricky at times, but children are never too young to develop pride in their school uniform. With this said, can I please ask for your help as parents, to ensure that together we help embed a sense pride in student appearance and uniform by:

Tucking shirts in to shorts

Wearing playground hats correctly (Prep wear the bucket hat)

Boys’ hair is to be neat and tidy. If it does become long and starts to hang over their eyes or collar, please get a haircut or tie it back so it is off their face.

Girls’ hair is to be tied back neatly with a blue ribbon.

Nail polish is to be removed before coming to school. Only plain studs or sleepers are to be worn as jewellery please.

Thank you for your assistance with this as strive to teach our students school pride and a sense of personal responsibility.

Clubs

Due to COVID restrictions that prevent us from mixing cohorts in classrooms as well changing staff commitments, we have decided to trial running Prep Clubs during the school day instead of on Wednesday afternoons. We will be working on the logistics over the next few weeks, so more information will be shared with you as to how this will look and how you can register your child.

OOSH (Out of School Hours Care)

Please be aware that Trish Rai is now the Coordinator of the Redlands House Extended Care program. We are currently in the process of advertising for a new K-6 OOSH Coordinator. Our highly professional OOSH staff are doing a wonderful job of running the daily program. Can I please ask you to ring or email if us if your child is not attending OOSH on an afternoon that you have booked them in for, this allows the staff to contact the next family on the wait list to alert them to a position for that afternoon.

Lost Property and Daily Planners

Each Friday there will be a lost property table set up outside the Prep Reception door in the morning and afternoon. Any item in lost property with a name will be placed on the table. Any unlabelled pieces of clothing will be donated to the second-hand clothing drive.

Thank you to all those parents who have been using the Daily Planner to notify classroom teachers as to their child’s afternoon activities. Can I please ask that this continues for another two weeks, thank you.
