Personal Hygiene

I wanted to take this opportunity to reiterate the importance of hygiene and protocols for students who are unwell. We have been reinforcing good hygiene habits with our students and ask that you also reinforce the following at home:

Wash hands frequently with soap and water, after coughing or sneezing, before and after eating, and after going to the toilet.
Cough or sneeze into your elbow.
Dispose of used tissues immediately and use alcohol-based hand sanitiser.
Avoid unnecessary physical contact with others through handshaking and other close contact.
Avoid touching your eyes, nose or mouth.

Unwell Students

It is important that you keep your child home from school if they are unwell. If they have a fever, runny nose, sore throat and/or cough they must stay home and follow medical advice. In the event that your child presents with flu-like symptoms at school, as with any other virus or infectious disease, they will be sent to the Teacher Aides or School Nurse and parents will be contacted to make arrangements for them to return home as soon as possible.

Seesaw

The continuity of learning is of paramount importance to the School. We are actively looking at methods for online learning to support the students in the event of a school closure. Currently all families have access to Seesaw, the online portfolio system the Prep School use to share students’ learning. This platform also has the capability for teachers to supply learning activities and students to interact with their teachers. Could all families please make sure they have access to Seesaw through the QR code that was placed in Student Planners at the beginning of the school year. If you do not have this, please contact your class teacher. The School will continue to update and communicate with you about on line learning should the need arise.

Toys/Watches at School

Could you please be advised that watches with camera, video and call functions are not permitted at school. These include Spacetalk, Vtech Kidizoom and Apple watches. Thank you for your close attention to this.

Parent Teacher Learning Meetings

As per the letter sent to all parents on Wednesday 26 February, Parent Teacher Learning Meetings will be held for the Preparatory School in Week 8, between Monday 16 and Friday 20 March. Bookings have now closed on line therefore if you missed out on the opportunity to book, please contact your class teacher directly. These meetings are a wonderful opportunity for collaboration between parent and teacher and I therefore urge you to take up this important time with your child’s teacher.

April Vacation Care

Vacation Care bookings are now open via the Flexischools website. Please note, there will be no allowance for cancellations, refunds or change of days once bookings are made so please choose your days carefully. Please direct all questions or concerns to the OOSH Coordinator, Trinetta Newbond rather than Flexischools. Thank you and we look forward to another wonderful Vacation Care in April.

Yr 1 Backyard Bugs

On Wednesday Yr 1 got up close and personal with some interesting insects whilst participating in a lesson on the importance of conservation and sustainability, and to gain an understanding of the Earth’s diverse ecosystem. Students were able to interact with the insects and learn about the vast array of unique animals that call Australia home.
