Father’s Day Breakfast

Grandparents Day

Last Friday we welcomed excited and proud grandparents and special friends to the Prep School to enjoy some classroom sharing time and a well-deserved morning tea and playground chat. After being escorted to classrooms by our Year 2 students, our visitors participated in fun activities, art creations, singing and they even got to show off their disco moves in the Year 2 rooms! The morning ended with a lovely morning tea and a play outside in the sunshine.

Grandparents and Special Friends Day highlights the importance of cross generational sharing and learnings. The engagement and conversation that occurred in classrooms last Friday was so very special for both our young learners and for our community.

After School Prep Sport Feedback

Term 4 After School Sport registration will open at 8.30am, September 4 and close on Friday September 8 at 5pm. Term 4 sport choices will continue to be gymnastics, football, AFL and Multisport.

We continue to listen to and respond to parent feedback as community voice is important to us. We encourage families who have accessed the afternoon sport program  to please fill in this quick survey to help us plan for the continued growth and development of the program.

Parent Volunteers for Camp Week

The excitement is growing as we begin the countdown for Camp Week. Prep Camp Week will be held in Week 9 (11-15th September). The students will be participating in a range of fun and creative activities throughout the week. On Monday the 11th of September, we have organised some teamwork games for the students on the oval. We require some parent volunteers to help run the activities. If you can assist between 11am and 1pm on the 11th of September, can you please email Prep Reception. We appreciate your support.

Growth Coaching

A Message from Mr Ben Castelli, Head of Learning Analytics (P-12)

Throughout this term, our students have been meeting their teachers as part of our P-12 Growth Coaching Program. Using iGrow, an interactive application developed by Redlands, students have been able to see where their light shines and discuss opportunities for collaboration and holistic growth. It has provided a unique opportunity for students to meet individually with their teachers and reflect on their learning. By connecting, reflecting, and affecting visible growth, we empower each other to thrive and evolve as a community of learners. Our students’ emphasis on learning from each other, questioning and embracing new experiences reflects their curiosity and active engagement in learning.

Head Lice and Sickness

Our Kindergarten classes were notified of head lice being present in the cohort this week. Can I please ask all prep parents to check their children’s hair for lice or lice eggs and treat accordingly at home. Just to be aware that a child will be sent home if lice is detected at school. Please be mindful that if you send your child to school with lice, this can easily spread and lead to student and staff absences. We appreciate your cooperation in this matter.

Tummy bugs and heavy colds with coughs are quite prevalent in Prep at the moment. Can I please encourage parents to keep your child at home if they are unwell and to complete the absentee form on Pulse if they are absent.
