School Important Campus Access Notice: Murdoch Street Gate
With a safety lens around the Murdoch Street access to the Junior Campus, the usage of the Murdoch Street pedestrian gate has been recently reviewed with the aim of ensuring greater student safety and campus security.
In response to this review, the following changes to usage of the Murdoch Street pedestrian gate are being trialled for the remainder of Term 4 from today:
Monday – Friday (Term time only) |
6.00 am |
Gate opened for student arrival access |
9.00 am |
Gate closed for the school day |
2.30 pm |
Gate opened for student collection and departure |
4.00 pm |
Gate closed for the day |
Saturday & Sunday |
Gate closed all day |
School holidays |
Gate closed all day |
A gate closer has been installed to ensure that the gate cannot be accidentally left open during the day and there is a sign in place advising our community that when the gate is closed, access to the campus is via the Junior School or Prep Receptions on Allister Street. A reminder too that all visitors must sign in at Junior or Prep Receptions when entering the campus for an extended period of time (not for drop off or collection).
Wellbeing Thursday
What a day we had last Thursday in Prep! A big shout out to Mrs Clinton and all the staff who collaborated to create a day of fun and most importantly, focusing on the wellbeing of our staff and students. After a year of slowly returning to normal, wellbeing Thursday was exactly what we all needed to extend and nourish the relationships and connections across the school that we had so sadly missed over the last few years.
The Year 6 Technology leaders, Kate Rintoul, Hugo McDonald, and Connor Price, along with Ms Anagnostu filmed, edited, and shared this video about Prep’s special day. Enjoy!
Prep Playground Reminders
A reminder that if you have picked up your child in the afternoon and you are remaining in the playground for a period of time, can I please ask that you ensure your child doesn’t climb on the play equipment. This also applies to toddlers who may also be with you. The play equipment is used for the OOSH students after school only.
We also request that no sharing of food or ‘after school treats’ occurs after school hours in our school playground please. The eating times on school ground are at recess and lunchtime. Please take your child home or off campus to a nearby park if you wish to share food between your child and others. Thank you.
