Reconciliation Week

To celebrate Reconciliation Week and its theme of Be Brave, Make Change, Prep Students listened to stories to learn about indigienous people who were brave and made change. This afternoon, the whole Prep School wore shades of green and and gathered in a spiral on the Junior Campus Vval to recongise the importance of Being Brave and Making Change.

RPFA / Worn UP Partnership

As you may be aware or may have read in the RPFA section of Note Day last week, the RPFA has partnered with Worn UP on diverting old school uniforms from landfill to be upcycled into new products. The RPFA will be collecting old Redlands branded uniforms that are not suitable for the second hand uniform sale from Wed 1 June to Wed 8 June.

To accommodate this, there will be a yellow Redlands Worn UP wheelie bin in Prep reception until Wednesday 8 June for the collection of old uniform items. Please only place old Redlands uniforms in these bins.

Lismore Donations

A huge thank you to all the very generous parents who have donated so far. If you would still like to donate any items, please drop any craft things in the box by next Friday. The students have started their box decorations and have been busy writing and creating colourful cards with messages of kindness.

Heritage Week 6-10 June

Next week we celebrate Redlands Heritage Week which highlights different chapters of the School’s history, the foundations of the School and our special Redlands culture and community.

Our focus for Heritage Week this year is to celebrate the History of Science and Innovation at Redlands, and we certainly had a terrific start to this celebration with the successful Science and Innovation Luncheon on Friday 20 May. Not only did the luncheon celebrate science and innovation with reflections by guest speakers from various eras in the School’s history, but it also served to raise money for a new means-tested scholarship named in honour of remarkable Redlander, Dr Sue Morey AM (’59).

Throughout next week Prep students and staff will be celebrating in the following ways:

  • A focus on our heritage during Prep School and Junior School assemblies next week
  • A Prep School Heritage Tour on the Senior Campus on the morning of Thursday 9 June
  • Our school archivist will be visiting Kindergarten on Tuesday to share pictures and stories with our students.
  • A display of historical photos will be on display in the Prep reception.

Redlands Vacation Care Program: June-July

Redlands will be operating its Vacation Care program for TG and Redlands House and K-6 from Monday 27th June – Friday 15th July inclusive.

The bookings for Vacation care are now open and the program is available on Redlands Pulse on both the Prep School and OOSH pages. Please contact Ana Nogueira (Prep-Junior) and Trishna Rai (Redlands House &TG) for any assistance you may require in making your booking.

Vacation care opening hours are as follows:

  • Redlands House – 8:00am – 4:00pm
  • Prep and Junior – 8:00am – 6:00pm

Starting this Vacation Care, Redlands will use the Hubhello platform to connect with families regarding After School Care(ASC) and Vacation Care(VC). HubHello is already a system used by Redlands ASC for enrolments and now we are extending its use to families. The benefits of Hubhello are that:

  1. All information about children’s health and/or requirements can be updated by parents
  2. Easy to share communication to parents via Gallery and Newsfeed
  3. Electronic sign in to capture the exact sign in and sign out of students
  4. Connect families and government where parents can claim their Child Care Subsidy if they are eligible and use BASC vouchers.
  5. Other payment benefits.

For more information you can view the hubhello website and get access to the video that will give you more information on the Hubhello platform.

All overviews and information pertaining to the Vacation Care Program will be, and remain on, Redlands Pulse as well as the Hubhello website. Most families will already have an account, however, for those still needing to do so, please contact Ana Nogueira (Prep-Junior) and Trishna Rai (Redlands House &TG) so that they can send you the link for parents login or new enrolment log in.

For the upcoming Vacation Care, late fees will apply, as per the Redlands OOSH Policy. All children will be signed in and out of the program using HubHello. Children may only be collected by persons listed as authorised on their enrolment, unless prior arrangements have been made with the Coordinators.

Please advise of any non-attendance by 8:00am to OOSHBookings@redlands.nsw.edu.au for Prep and Junior and Extendedcare@redlands.nsw.edu.au for TG and Redlands House.
