New Smartboards installed in our Classrooms
Our teachers and students are super excited about our wonderful new interactive Smartboards which were installed in our Prep classrooms over the weekend. They provide a large 75” shared digital learning space and our students are already exploring how to write on and operate the boards using the digital pens and even their fingers. We love all the new ways students and teachers can use their Smartboards to collaborate to find information, share ideas and solve problems. We also love this opportunity for students to be curious and wonder about what’s inside the Smartboards and puzzle out how they work. Below are two photos of our new boards, one from our Yr 2 classroom where a teacher and student were working together, and the second from a Yr 1 classroom where you can see how the portable Smartboards form a part of the learning spaces in the classroom.
World Maths Day
On Wednesday 23 March, Yr 2 students took part in the World Maths Day Mathletics Competition. Students competed in Live Mathletics challenges and participated in fun activities that highlight the wonder of numbers.
Amy Dang, Hollidai Wang and Nicholas Barnes achieved the top three scores in the challenges. Amy was also one of the top scoring students in the global competition.
Samir Jackson, Kathleen Chan, Zandre Coussy and Emilia Barnes received certificates for their outstanding effort in Mathletics.
Congratulations to all the Yr 2 students who participated and challenged themselves during World Maths Day.
Reconciliation Week 2022
27 May to 3 June
National Reconciliation Week is a time for all Australians to learn about our shared histories, cultures, and achievements, and to explore how each of us can contribute to achieving reconciliation in Australia.
The National Reconciliation Week 2022 theme, “Be Brave. Make Change.” is a challenge to all Australians whether they are individuals, families, communities, organisations, and government, to Be Brave and tackle the unfinished business of reconciliation so we can Make Change for the benefit of all Australians.
This year we are all being asked to make change beginning with brave actions in our daily lives at our workplaces, where we live, play, and socialise.
Our Prep classes will be carrying out different activities that will reflect this throughout the week. We encourage you to have conversations at home about what this week means to our students and what small change can your family make together to reflect this year’s theme.
