Head of Junior School
Redlands Athletics Team
In the pre-Spring sunshine and warmth, I thoroughly enjoyed the chance to watch some of our students compete at Tuesday’s Heads of Independent Coeducational Schools (HICES) Athletics Carnival with schools competing from as far afield as Bathurst, Orange, the Blue Mountains and the Central Coast. As always, our students competed with great pride and commitment and we were delighted to be placed 3rd overall, with many individual and relay personal bests and ribbons along the way. Congratulations to every team member and our Sports staff on supporting this opportunity for the students.
Human Library Special Guest
This week, I joined Year 6 Chapel where Ms McKenzie and the students welcomed Reverend Tim St Quintin as their special guest as part of their Human Library series, which first began during lockdown! Tim is the Rector of St Peter’s Anglican Church, Cremorne, which has a direct connection with our School and also serves as a Board Director here at Redlands. I know Tim really enjoyed having an opportunity to have this meaningful engagement with the students who asked some thoughtful questions about Tim’s past experiences as both an Army Officer for fifteen years prior to entering full-time ministry.
Father’s Day Breakfast

We are looking forward to welcoming dads to our campus next Monday morning between 7.45am – 8.30am for ‘Coffee in the Piazza’ and we wish all dads a special day this Sunday.
Year 3 Camp (7-8 September)
Next week sees our final Junior School year group enjoying their outdoor education experience as Year 3 head off on their first overnight camp.
As a precursor, next Wednesday 6 September, the Outdoor Education Group will come to Redlands and run activities and team building games for the students and staff and also talk to them about their two-day off-site adventure on Thursday and Friday.
Last week, Mr Latimer sent Yr 3 families a detailed overview of the camp schedule via Pulse and a reminder that there are also extensive details on the Redlands page of the OEG website and which can be accessed as below:

As always, I am looking forward to joining the group for part of their trip as they head down to Tallong in the beautiful Southern Highlands, a campus we are very familiar with and where our Year 4 Camp took place earlier this year.
