Baby News

We were thrilled to hear of the safe arrival of baby Isla Madelaine Atkinson, a first child for Yr 5 teacher, Alix Smith. Born on 7 June and in Alix’s words, “3kgs of perfection”, both Alix and Isla are well and enjoying this precious time as a family and we look forward to a visit next semester.

Junior Music Festival: A Night With the Stars

Each year, our annual Junior Music Festival is a highlight in the Junior School calendar; an event in which every Junior School student will enjoy the opportunity and experience of performing on stage at least twice. Music is an area in which all Redlands students have a variety of opportunities to be involved in, both within our curriculum and cocurricular offerings, as will be showcased at this event.

Connected to this, please note some key information below to assist your planning for this event.

Best wishes to the team in their endeavours.

Compost Tuesday

Our environmental leaders launched another initiative this week – Compost Tuesday. In assembly, students were provided with information about what they could place in these compost bins and this will start next week.

Y12 Legacy Gift Product Launch

In our Junior School assembly this week, we were delighted to welcome back four Junior School students now in Yr 12: Angus, Oliver, Lachlan and Jamison, to talk to the students about two gifts that they will be selling next term connected to fundraising towards the School’s mean-tested scholarship.

The Yr 12 students showed a Redlands 2023 tote bag and a Redlands sports towel which they will be selling next term and details will be circulated in advance.

Important Student Safety Reminder

Please can parents of students who either catch a bus home or attend an after-school activities remind their child(ren) that students are not permitted to go to the Shell garage at the junction of Murdoch Street and Military Road to purchase food and/or drinks. As this is a very busy petrol station, our guidance comes from a point of student safety and expectations. Students have been given this message as well as we have also had some miss their bus due to this reason.

Similarly, unless with an adult, Junior School students must use the footbridge over Military Road to cross this major road and should not cross at the traffic lights.

Term 3/4 Departure Notice
