From The Principal
There has definitely been a buzz around the School this week as we look ahead to the return of our Redlands House, K and Year 1 students on Monday; and celebrated our Class of 2021 at our final Year 12 Chapel Service and Assembly today.
It was a very special afternoon seeing Year 12 students, tutors and teachers gather together in Tutor Groups, appropriately spaced, in the Redlands Learning Hub for these final celebrations. Our student leaders spoke fondly and eloquently of their time at the School, thanking teachers for their support and encouragement.
We sincerely thank our not only our student leaders, but the entire Class of 2021 for their leadership during the year. We wish them all the very best as they undertake their final HSC and IB examinations and look forward to their stories of fun after the exams, and to gathering together with them early next year for their Valedictory celebrations.
A huge amount of logistical planning went into ensuring that all of our Year 12s could be back safely on campus and to enjoy being together for their final Chapel Service and Assembly. Once again, the teamwork of our dedicated staff has shone through and my sincere thanks to all who made the event possible.
I enjoyed the opportunity to attend several parent meetings this week and pass on my thanks for the wonderful support the staff have received throughout the period of Remote Learning. Feedback has been constructively provided and there has been genuine acknowledgement and thanks for the dedication of staff. The strength of the school community has been clearly demonstrated.
During Remote Learning, staff have needed continually to implement innovative solutions and an example of this has been the shift to provide virtual art exhibitions showcasing student work.
Year 12 IB Visual Arts Virtual Exhibition
Our Year 12 IB Visual Arts students have worked with Coordinator of Visual Arts, Mark Harpley, to create a wonderful virtual tour of their Year 12 IB Visual Arts Exhibition, showcasing the final two years of their artmaking. To view the exhibition and hear from each student about the curatorial rationale, please click here or on the below image.
The HSC Art Exhibition will also be presented virtually using the same technology. My congratulations to all of the students and the entire Visual Arts team for the quality of the exhibition.
