Let Your Light Shine on Education

Our School is built on so much more than bricks and mortar. While our facilities are so important for sustaining and building a dynamic learning environment, even more vital is the sense of community and spirit we create within these environs.

One such precious ingredient for this is the means–tested Redlands Scholarship Fund, launched by Principal Dr Peter Lennox in 2010. This Fund creates life-changing opportunities for exceptional young people to realise their full potential, when a Redlands education would otherwise be out of reach.

Prior to this, Redlands has a long tradition for awarding scholarships, the first awarded in 1920 for 1921 under the Principal Miss G A Roseby. During the Depression, many alumni were awarded unofficial bursaries as Miss Roseby waived the school fees for countless Redlands families whose fathers had lost their jobs. As a result, many of these students were able to stay at school and graduate, attend university and pursue professional careers.

Students are Leading the Way

Our Yr 12 students are already behind the cause, volunteering to help organise activities to inspire student participation in reaching this objective, including a challenge to our Alumni to join them in contributing to this Fund and creating their own Class Legacy Gifts.
