Legacy Gift Team – Mufti Day with House Colours

Year 12 students are thrilled to invite the entire Redlands community to join them in their fundraising efforts and contribute to the means-tested Redlands Scholarship Fund, in honour of the Redlander Coralie Amos OAM who graduated from Redlands in 1964 and dedicated an extraordinary 50 years to public service.

Year 3 to HSC Visual Arts Exhibition

Susan Rothwell AM, Redlander 1965

We were greatly honoured to welcome Susan Rothwell AM, Redlander from the Class of 1965 and Chair at the National Art School in Sydney to open our extraordinary Student Art Exhibition yesterday at Redlands Hall.  This showcase of works across a variety of mediums by students from Year 3 to Year 12 HSC was also of interest to many alumni who attended from the Class of 1964 to the most recent era. Congratulations to our students, and also Mark Harpley, Coordinator of Visual Arts and Jeslyne Fung Year 12 HSC Visual Arts teacher. What an wonderful celebration of our Visual Arts program and opportunity for our community to see this amazing work!

Susan Rothwell AM is a practicing registered architect, visual artist and horticulturalist. She has been on the Foundation Boards of the Museum of Contemporary Art (MCA), the Art Gallery of New South Wales, Historic Houses Trust and North Foundation. Susan holds a Bachelor of Architecture and is an Honorary Doctor of Architecture from The University of Sydney. She is a Lifetime Fellow of the Australian Institute of Architects and was recognised in the Queen’s Birthday Honours for significant service to the not-for-profit sector, and to architecture.

When studying architecture at the University of Sydney she was also required to study visual art having been introduced to pioneering artists Roland Wakelin and Lloyd Rees who became her mentors.

Susan has been a finalist in the AGNW’s Archibald Prize, and her work appears in numerous collections including that at Mosman Art Gallery.  

Justin Miller Art Gallery notes ‘both her expectational gifts as a colourist and abiding fascination with Australian subject matter are evident in her joyous, atmospheric images”.

We are deeply grateful to Susan for sharing this wonderful evening with us.

Festival of Redlands – Celebrating 140 Years of Redlands
