Foundation
Welcome back! We hope all our Redlands families had a wonderful break and managed to regain energy for the final term of 2018.
High Country Campus
Just before the school holidays, the Winter School final dinner took place at High Country Campus, Jindabyne to celebrate the end of the season. During this occasion, the fourth building was officially opened and named by Principal Dr Peter Lennox and Chair of Redlands Board Ms Glenda McLoughlin.
This building, which is primarily used as a Games Room, has been named after the Van Weelde Family. Mark and Tracey van Weelde are Redlands Foundation Patrons, and their three sons Nicholas, Lucas and Simon have enjoyed coming to this Campus over the past ten years during six Winter Schools and many camps.
“We wanted to give our children more access to the countryside throughout their childhood as we had growing up, so they had a wider perspective of society than an inner city life. In today’s digital global environment there seems be increased pressure on people of all ages but particularly the younger ones. We believe life-long skills need to be developed in teenage years for the journey ahead in life.” Tracey van Weelde, Redlands parent
In a today’s world, our Outdoor Education program and High Country Campus continue to be very important in the development of life skills and in helping to set our students up for long-term success.
Thank you to Mark and Tracey, and also to our Redlands families who have contributed to the HCC maintenance and repairs at the annual working bees organised by Collen Godsell (Board member and former Redlands parent),

Redlands International Reunion – London
On Saturday 6 October we celebrated the Redlands International Reunion, hosted by Caroline Jane, Alumni Manager and Redlander (1991). The elegant surroundings of the Oriental Club in Marylebone provided a perfect backdrop for this landmark event. Special thanks to all Redlanders who came from across the globe to celebrate our international community, representing every decade since 1960. Principal Dr Peter Lennox, and Mr Michael Compton (School Captain, Class of 2006) gave engaging speeches as guests reflected and celebrated our School’s history and future. We look forward to planning towards another Redlands London reunion in 2019. For further information about this special event, please contact cjane@redlands.nsw.edu.au.
