Foundation
The Foundation Office is working on some exciting upcoming events. Preparations for the Arts Luncheon are well under way including researching our rich history in Performing and Visual Arts and important innovations and milestones that contributed to the advancement of Redlands curriculum in this field.
This Friday we are hosting a Redlanders parents morning tea to make connections among our past students who are current parents and also reflect on the extensive development of Redlands in recent decades, including the redevelopment of both campuses, new program offerings and the multicultural composition of our student body.
Redlands Arts Luncheon – Save the Date
This exciting event will celebrate the long history of Performing and Visual Arts at Redlands. This Luncheon will take place at Royal Sydney Yacht Squadron, Wednesday 26 May, 12.00-3.00pm. Tickets will be on sale next week and information will be sent by email to all parents. There will be a limited capacity so do not hesitate to book early.
Proceeds from this event will be dedicated to the Belinda Oxley Scholarship to acknowledge her dedication to Redlands and her passion for education. This Redlands Foundation Scholarship is means-tested and is awarded annually for the entire six years of a Redlands Secondary School education.
We will be seeking support for raffle and auction prizes.
Belinda’s legacy from current staff – a passionate, inspiring and caring educator
Belinda contributed enormously to the Preparatory School at Redlands. She dedicated decades of her life to educating and inspiring hundreds of Redlands students. She was passionate about Visual Arts and made it a central part of her teaching when working with her students.
Belinda spent countless hours contributing to Redlands through curriculum planning, innovating new ways of teaching and organising events, such as Games Day, Sculptures in the Playground and the Yr 2 Camp.
She welcomed new staff into the School and took young teachers under her wing to help and advise them and always had time for everybody. If anyone needed help, she would be there offering assistance.
Belinda inspired generations of Redlands students, had a kind heart and displayed a genuine interest in all her students. She had a great sense of humour and we dearly miss her.
