Drama and Theatre
Year 12
The IB Theatre Collaborative projects will be filmed on Monday 7 September and made available for families to view via the iLearn Course page. These original pieces explore Art, Loss and Ambition in unusual circumstances. The students have worked closely with PUSH Theatre company who are based in New York via a series of Zoom workshops. We wish our students all the very best as they work towards this final stage of their Theatre Assessment.
We will have the opportunity to present awards to our Yr 12 HSC and IB students at the Cocurricular Assembly on 17 September. These young people have shown great resilience and initiative in their final year of school in such challenging circumstances.
Year 11 Production
On Monday 14 September, Yr 11 IB and HSC students will present a series of original self devised works featuring physical theatre techniques of Frantic Assembly, DV8 and PUSH. These creative and engaging performances will be filmed in the Drama Studio and made available for families to view via the iLearn Course page.
Gala Arts
All Gala Arts finalists are reminded to finalise all details requested including costumes, backing tracks, prompt scripts and technical requirements by Friday.
Drama Competition
Judging for the Drama Competition is now taking place and the winners will be announced in Week 10.
Musical 2021
Grease will be going ahead in 2021 provided the ongoing situation allows us to use our external venue, The Concourse.
All cast members in Yrs 7-11 need to indicate their preference via this Google form by Friday Week 7 (4 September). All current cast members are guaranteed a place in the 2021 Musical if they indicate they wish to continue by completing the Google form.
Students currently in Yr 6, students who are new to Redlands, those who did not audition this year and those who were unsuccessful this year, will all have the opportunity to audition for 2021. The audition process for all applicants will be confirmed in Week 9 with all audition information placed here.
