Musical
Tickets will be on sale next week for the Redlands Musical for 2019 and will be available directly from The Concourse, Chatswood box office. Redlands will be presenting the wonderful musical Strictly Ballroom from 28 – 30 March in the Concourse Theatre.
Musical Rehearsals
This week the Musical Company will run Act One with our fabulous Band. Our full rehearsal schedule and newsletters are available here and on the Theatre and Drama noticeboard. Students are reminded to be prompt to all rehearsals, bring plenty of food and water, wear appropriate clothing as required and their very important libretto!
Makeup and Props Team
Enrolments in our Make up, Production and Props teams for 2019 are now closed.
Gala Arts
This year’s Gala Arts performance will take place on Friday 31 May in the Concert Hall at The Concourse at Chatswood. Auditions are this term. Audition application forms and information from the student meeting are available here. Applications close 27 February at 3.30pm. Late applications for an audition will not be accepted.
Junior School Theatresports
Any student wishing to participate in Theatresports in the Junior School is welcome to join us at lunch on Tuesdays. Workshops are free and open to all students from Yrs 3 to 6.
Secondary School Theatresports
Redlands Theatresports competition preparation is beginning! Workshops are still open to all students from Yrs 7 to 12. Classes take place on Monday lunchtimes in the Drama Studio. Redlands will be entering a Senior and Junior team in Impro Australia’s 2019 Theatresports Schools Competition. See Mrs Daley for details.
The Shakespeare Carnival
Sport for Jove Theatre is returning with The Shakespeare Carnival for 2019. Right across NSW, high school students will have the chance to tread the boards and creatively engage with Shakespeare’s works on the stage as actors, dancers, musicians and designers. Redlands Shakespeare Carnival will be held on Wednesday 20 March at 6.30pm in the Drama Studio. To audition please see the categories guidelines.
Student News
Congratulations to Apsara Lindeman (Yr 11) who is currently performing in Australian Theatre for Young People’s play Intersection by the writers of the 2018 National Studio. The performance runs until 17 February at the Stables Theatre. Bookings available here.
