2024 IB Theatre Solo Performances
Stunning Sophisticated Solos were Sensational!
What a phenomenal week we had in IB Higher Level Theatre last week. Over two nights and two nights of technical rehearsal, the Year 12 IB cohort presented 11 Solo Performances based on the theoretical practice of Anne Bogart including exploring techniques and conventions such as: gestures, topography, shape, architecture, tempo and repetition.
Each performance was nuanced, emotional and sophisticated. Each student should be congratulated for the high standard they were able to achieve. As an IB teacher of some years I was exceptionally proud of the way the cohort was able to manipulate the theory in practice and it really stands them in good stead for the next step, to write their reports on the performance. Those that were there to bear witness spoke highly of the sophistication and maturation of the work.
Congratulations to all, it was a beautiful representation and culmination of your two year course and you should be suitably proud of all of your hard work and efforts.
