Yr 8 Drama Performance Evenings 2023

The Yr 8 performance night Australian Landscapes is taking place in the Drama Studio on Monday 7 and Tuesday 8 August (Week 4, Term 3) at 6:30pm. This term, students have explored the work of Australian writers and performers who have contributed to Australian drama and theatre. Students have engaged in a range of dramatic forms, performance styles and theatre conventions related to Australian theatre and developed a broad understanding of our cultural heritage and the characteristics of the Australian psyche. This is their first ever performance night examination, and we are very proud of the newly learnt performance skills they have developed and demonstrated. Come and watch our Yr 8 Drama students perform extracts from fantastic plays such as Lockie Leonard, Hating Alison Ashley and Burnt, just to name a few. We look forward to seeing you there in the audience!

Yr 5 & 6 Musical Theatre

Yr 5 & 6 Musical Theatre are proud to announce that we have started rehearsals for our end of year production Matilda. The students are beyond excited to put this musical on for the school! We always start  our classes with some wonderful drama games (Zombie and Prisoners). We’ve been rehearsing all the songs for Matilda which is moving very quickly with our talented students. In no time they’ll be taking the stage of the Redlands Hall in Term 4. Don’t miss this excellent musical with an absolutely brilliant cast!

Drama and Theatre: Student of the Week – Benny Maker

Benny Maker from Yr 3 is our spotlight Junior Actor for this week. He is new to Junior Drama and in his own words “loving every minute” He is enthusiastic and always brings a positive attitude to class. He is willing to have a go at any theatrical activity and always works well with others. Benny is a wonderful addition to our acting class. He is really looking forward to the end of year showcase where he can perform the class group devised piece for his family. He is working very hard on this now. Well done Benny!
