Creative Kids – Learning How To Use Expression in Drama!
Our class has been learning how to use facial expression to show emotion and physicality to convey character. In our class today we explored emotions such as anger, surprise, boredom and fear. We played the game ‘Walk like…’, in which we used our bodies to establish character and scene. This term, we are learning The Ants Go Marching, which develops our memory, focus, and co-ordination. Drama is a lot of fun! Jessica Fallico – Drama Tutor
Yr 8 Drama Performance Evenings 2023

The Yr 8 performance night Australian Landscapes is taking place in the Drama Studio on Monday 7 and Tuesday 8 August (Week 4, Term 3) at 6:30pm. This term, students have explored the work of Australian writers and performers who have contributed to Australian drama and theatre. Students have engaged in a range of dramatic forms, performance styles and theatre conventions related to Australian theatre and developed a broad understanding of our cultural heritage and the characteristics of the Australian psyche. This is their first ever performance night examination, and we are very proud of the newly learnt performance skills they have developed and demonstrated. Come and watch our Yr 8 Drama students perform extracts from fantastic plays such as Lockie Leonard, Hating Alison Ashley and Burnt, just to name a few. We look forward to seeing you there in the audience!
Drama and Theatre: Student of the Week – Harry Castelli
Harry Castelli is a wonderful member of our Year 1 Musical Theatre class.
He comes prepared every week with a big smile on his face, ready to listen and learn. As you can see in Picture 1, he is fully focused on learning a new song during our singing session. In Picture 2 he is acting like an ‘Octopus’ during one of our acting exercises Walk Like…. We love having Harry in our class! Andrew Wang, Drama Tutor
