Drama and Theatre

We are so proud of our exceptional Intermediate and Senior Theatresports teams – both have progressed to the Semi-Finals which is an outstanding accomplishment! We have now begun rehearsing for the Theatre category for Gala Arts, and we’re looking forward to sharing these performances with our audience soon at The Concourse, Chatswood, Week 1 Term 3. Our production students have been busy preparing for upcoming events and our Extra Subject Drama classes are continuing to create their works for their end of year performances.

Congratulations to our Theatresports Intermediate Team!

Our Yr 9 and 10 Theatresports team competed at the Regional Competition recently for the Theatresports Australia Improvisation, All Schools Challenge, and placed Second overall, progressing to the Semi Finals! We wish them well at the Semi-Finals, along with our Senior Theatresports Team.

Intermediate Team (Years 9 and 10)

Remie Gibbs (Yr 10), Byron Kendrigan (Yr 9), Serafina Scotting (Yr 10), Abbie Sewell (Yr 10), Juliet Treloar (Yr 10)

Thank you to their Theatresports teachers, Mrs Sarah Sparkes and Ms Amber Virtue for doing such a fantastic job in training our students for this event.

Secondary Production Crew – Friday Afternoons

After a busy, action-packed, and fun musical last term, the Senior Production Crew has been hard at work assisting with various Drama events in the school community. Two weeks ago, the Yr 12 IB drama students put on a phenomenal self-devised performance, with the assistance of a few of our Yr 12 crew members who managed the lighting, sound, and projection behind the scenes. In recent weeks, we have closely collaborated with the Yr 11 IB Drama classes, helping to design the lighting and program it into the Drama Studio lighting setup for their upcoming performance exams.

In the coming weeks, the crew will begin preparations for the backstage work at the upcoming Senior Music Festival, which will take place near the end of Term 2, and the Gala Arts event, scheduled right at the beginning of Term 3. We are excited to witness the incredible performances from all areas of the school community at these events! By Olivier Noakes (Production Captain)
