The Addams Family – Musical

We are excited for the Photoshoot and Full Show Run which is coming up shortly as we will be able to see all the hard work costume, production and orchestra have put into the Musical. Please remember to read all updates in information as we head towards Production Week in Week 8. 

Week 5 Friday will be Costume Fitting/Choreography Rehearsal from 3:30pm – 5:00pm and Sitzprobe from 5:00pm – 7:00pm, it is important to have all cast in attendance.

Important Dates

  • Week 5 Friday: Costume Fitting/Choreography Rehearsal and Sitzprobe: Compulsory Attendance 
  • Week 8: Production Week at The Concourse: Wednesday 22 March – Saturday 25 March

Rehearsal Reminders

  • Be prompt to all rehearsals. Please ensure students are picked up promptly at the end of rehearsal. 
  • Bring mask, water and food to all rehearsals
  • Please be aware that Redlands has a “Nut-free” policy.
  • Bring scripts, librettos & pencils to all rehearsals.
  • Wear appropriate attire to Friday & Sunday rehearsals eg Redlands Drama or Dance attire or sports uniform.

Catering in Production Week

This year, students will not be catered for during Production Week. This is to reduce the amount of cross-contamination and appropriate handling of food between all students and staff. This means the appropriate amount of food must be packed during Production Week to last students for the entire day and night.

ABSENCES: If you are unable to attend any rehearsal due to special circumstances you must notify drama@redlands.nsw.edu.au in advance. 

MAKEUP AND HAIR CREW:  Reminder to all production crew to check the schedule as they will be required to attend every rehearsal on Sundays. All students will be rostered in the theatre during the show week.

REHEARSAL SCHEDULE: Please check the weekly rehearsal schedules, they are posted on i-learn.

SUNDAY REHEARSALS: Please remember to bring all food and drink from home to these rehearsals. No student is permitted to go off-site to collect food. Please bring a refillable water bottle.

PRODUCTION CREW: Please ensure all production crew check the schedule as they will be required to attend every rehearsal on Sundays in addition to their commitment to Production on Fridays. These students will be required for all sessions and performances in the theatre during the show week.


Curriculum Drama

Our Yr 8 Curriculum Drama students have been enjoyed exploring their group devising skills and the elements of Drama. Our Year 10 Drama Curriculum students are also really looking forward to engaging in workshops with Sport for Jove, a company specialising in Shakespeare. Sport for Jove Theatre is an award winning NSW-based repertory theatre company producing a major touring summer festival of outdoor Shakespeare in Australia, along with theatrical and education-based seasons of classical and new works in Sydney theatre venues and is the resident theatre company of the Seymour Centre. Yr 10 Drama is really excited for this exciting workshop with this professional theatre company.
