Drama and Theatre
Welcome back to Term 3. Although it has been a wet start to the week, students are excited to begin preparations for the end-of-year performances. From Creative Kids to Secondary School Film we all look forward to seeing what creative endeavours they undertake over the next two terms.
Gala Arts
This week is the inaugural Gala Arts. Gala Arts is the School’s Annual Creative and Performing Arts Festival, which showcases the outstanding and diverse talents of Redlands students from Years 7 to 12. The Gala Arts Festival was created to showcase the creative talents of Redlands students, whilst at the same time promoting Inter-House competition and House spirit. Students perform in Dance, Instrumental, Theatre and Vocal categories, and Visual Art photography works portraying this year’s theme of Shadows will be on display in the foyer. The winners of each category will be announced at the event.

Extra-subject Drama and Theatre
Classes are going well. If you want to enrol your child please contact drama@redlands.nsw.edu.au. Some classes are at capacity and have a waitlist.
A few reminders below:
The Extra Subject Drama and Theatre Program automatically renews at the end of Semester 1. Parents do not need to contact the drama office unless they wish to change their enrolment. Billing takes place prior to the commencement of Semester 2. Four weeks’ written notice to drama@redlands.nsw.du.au is required if you wish to withdraw from the program.
Please communicate with your child about their extra-curricular classes in the morning. We have had cases where students are in the car line or their designated pick-up spot and have needed to be located before class starts. Please ensure any absences are sent to drama@redlands.nsw.edu or your child’s class tutor prior to the lesson.
