Drama and Theatre

Drama and Theatre

“Theatre is the greatest of all art forms, the most immediate way in which a human being can share with another the sense of what it is to be a human being.” – Oscar Wilde.

This rang true on Monday and Tuesday night when we had the first curriculum performance evening of the year. Non-linear, non-sensical storylines enthralled our audiences as we celebrated a night of Absurd Theatre. Congratulations to all involved.

Gala Arts

Audition submissions are now closed for Gala Arts. Tickets will go on sale throughout the term.

Theatresports

Senior Team

Next Tuesday the Senior Theatresports teams compete at Linfield Learning College in the first heat of the Impro Australia Theatresports Competition. We wish the following students the best of luck.

  • Omar Rihani
  • Kyle Banfield
  • Claudia Lalich
  • Maya Little

Intermediate Team

Last Friday the Intermediate Theatresports team competed at Normanhurst Boys High School in the preliminary heats. Overall, they placed 4th and are waiting to hear if they will progress round. Congratulations to all involved.

Senior Curriculum Performance Evenings

In the upcoming weeks, we have an array of senior curriculum performance evenings, showcasing their classwork over the semester. We encourage friends and family to attend to support all students involved. Please see the information below for these evenings.

Extra-subject Drama and Theatre

Classes are going well. If you want to enrol your child please contact drama@redlands.nsw.edu.au. Some classes are at capacity and have a waitlist.

Reminder: A friendly reminder to communicate with your child about their extra-curricular classes in the morning. We have had cases were students are in car line or their designated pick up spot and have needed to be located before class starts. Please ensure any absences are sent to drama@redlands.nsw.edu.au or your childs class tutor prior to the lesson.
