Drama and Theatre Classes Creative Characters
Each week our Drama and Theatre students meet to explore their creative side in ever increasing imaginative ways. This week some of our Yr 5 Acting students had fun creating characters with sock puppets and our Year 1 Acting used their favourite soft toy to bring a character to life. The smiles on their faces are priceless. Congratulations to all the Drama and Theatre teachers who continue to adapt new ways of bringing happiness to our students in the remote classroom.
Friday Night Live!
Our wonderful Arts Captains Maddie and Felix have a great new Arts initiative, a showcase of Redlands Arts talent with contributions from all Secondary Year Groups. This event is aimed at all student audiences NOT limited students involved with the Arts community! A chance to get together and celebrate even though we are apart.
WHAT IS IT: This is an event that will take place on 10 September at 5pm, with ‘LIVE’ performances. It will occur via Zoom and include several students from each Year performing a 2-3 minute act. We use this term ‘performing’ as it does not limit the submissions to the typical categories usually used in events such as Gala Arts or other various competitions throughout the school. Both of us know how many creative and inspiring students there are in this school so we thought to make the options limitless on what students want to present
HOW WILL IT BE DONE: Students wishing to be involved should submit a video of their ‘act’ to the Friday Night Live assignment page in the Student Leaders course, which will be then looked at by Felix, Maddie and Ms Daley. Acts will then be chosen to perform on Friday 10 September. Unfortunately, we can only have several acts per year group but we will try to build a diverse, entertaining and amazing repertoire of performances so get as creative as possible!
POSSIBLE CATEGORIES (NOT LIMITED TO THE ONES LISTED): Vocal/ Theatre/ Instrumental/ Dance/ Stand Up Comedy/ Rap/ Poetry Reading/ Personal Composition
We really want to see your individuality shine through!
WHEN IS IT: Audition Submissions are due next Monday, 6th of September and the actual event takes place on 10 September at 5pm.
If you have any questions please get in contact with Felix or Maddie, who really want to give you everyone a fun night celebrating the amazing students in this school and boost a sense of positivity within our community during this tough time!
