You’ve Got a Friend in Me!

Calling all Friends of Drama parents of Year 7 to 12 students. Next Tuesday 13 February 7.30-8.15am we are hosting an after-drop-off-coffee in the Drama and Theatre Office for any new (or existing) Friends of Drama – come and meet the new team. We don’t expect you to be able to make an octopus (or chihuahua) costume from scratch or even be able to sew, we’d just love to have some more enthusiasts in our Friends team to help with the many collaborative aspects of putting on excellent Redlands Drama and Theatre performances. Please click this link to let us know that you’ll be joining us or if you can’t, but would like to get involved.

Redlands Drama and Theatre has well and truly hit the ground running and we’re gearing up for an exciting year ahead, full of opportunities for all students to get involved. This year’s musical Legally Blonde is well into rehearsals and is working away at a break-neck speed to prepare for the show in Week 8 (not to mention the UN-style negotiations regarding chihuahua options). Next week, our plethora of amazing co and extra subject curricular clubs commence, offering a huge variety of skills and experiences for performance lovers, backstage heroes and creative visionaries alike.

During school hours, classes in Curriculum Drama and Theatre have started and are busy building fantastic connections and fostering amazing collaborative, creative work from play building, dramatic elements, Verbatim theatre to Approaches to Acting such as Meyerhold and Le Coq to Physical Theatre Collaborative Projects. The staffroom is abuzz with excitement and plans for a thrilling year of Drama and Theatre, including the Shakespeare Carnival in the quad later this term, so watch this space for announcements about excursions, performance evenings and opportunities.
