Congratulations to the Senior A, Senior B, Yr 10, Yr 8A, Yr 8B and Yr 7B teams for their wins against Monte last Friday.

This week we will be debating at home. Please meet Ms Alan, Ms Nocera and Ms Moore in the Liggins Quad at 3.30pm to sign in and to set up your Debating room.

All members of the team attend coaching. Team members who are not debating need to help teachers host the event. This includes chairing, keeping time and guiding visitors to their rooms.

The Chairperson and Timekeeper should also ensure that both teams are ready to start the debate and in the correct room. Visiting teams prep in the Debating room so this would involve fetching the Redlands team. You have been emailed the Chairperson’s sheets if you would like to practise before the day. I have emailed the rooms we will be using so that you are familiar with which rooms you will be using.

ISDA

Congratulations to the Senior B, Yr 9 and Primary A teams who all had wins against Ascham last Friday.

This week we will be Debating at Newington. Please meet Mr Ockenden at the Adams Centre at 3.30pm sharp. There will be no time to go to the shops. If you want to snack on something you will need to bring a light dinner from home. Most venues provide refreshments, but this is not usually served until later in the evening. A reminder that all students are required to be at each debate and coaching session of the season.

You will need to sign in with Mr Ockenden and then sign out before you leave to go home. Parents will need to make arrangements for students to travel home from the venue after their debate.

You have been emailed venue details. Please note their sustainability policy and bring a keep cup and/or water bottle to the venue.
