Debating

Well done to the FED Yr 7A, Yr 7B, Yr 8A, Yr 8B, Yr 9 and Senior A teams who won their debates against Joeys last Friday. Also well done to the ISDA Primary A, Primary B, Yr 7, Yr 8, Yr 10 and Senior A teams who won against Brigidine. It is great to end the round-robin stage of the competitions with so many wins.

Special congratulations to the FED Yr 8B and Yr 9 teams who have made it to the Semi Finals of the FED competition. Students have been emailed about their Semi Final dates and venues.

Congratulations also to the ISDA Primary B and Yr 10 teams who have made it through to the Octo Finals (Quarter Finals) this Friday.

Redlands is hosting the ISDA Octo Final (Quarter Final) this week. All ISDA debaters are expected to attend this day regardless of whether their team is debating. Debaters will be expected to watch/participate in the debates and also help with setting up rooms, chairing, time keeping and helping visitors find their way around the school. Only teams who will be debating will have a coaching session on the evening. Students will have been emailed sign-in and sign-out times.

Redlands is hosting the FED Grand Final on Friday 1 June (Week 5.) All FED debaters are expected to attend this day regardless of whether their team makes it that far. Students will be expected to watch/participate in the Grand Final debates and also help with setting up rooms, chairing, time keeping and helping visitors find their way around the school. Gala Arts participants are excused from this commitment. Only teams who will be debating will have a coaching session on the evening. Students will be emailed sign-in and sign-out times.

All the best to FED Yr 8B and ISDA Primary B and Yr 10 teams who will be Debating this Friday. We welcome parents and friends to watch the debates and to support our Debating teams. FED Yr 8B will debate at Newington this week and ISDA will be at Redlands.
