Debating
ISDA Congratulations to the Primary B, Yr 7 and Senior B teams who won their debates against Scots last week. Round 2 will be at Monte. The bus will leave at 4.10pm (a little later than usual) with Ms Beggs accompanying the students. Please see an email from me for more details.
FED teams have a Home debate against Pymble Ladies College this week. They need to meet at 3.30pm in the Quad for room set up.
There are several students away this Friday for various reasons and many teams will be on minimum numbers. Please let me know first thing on Friday if a student is sick so that we can make arrangements to avoid the penalties of a forfeit.
Parents are encouraged to come in and watch debates to support our debaters old and new. More about both these competitions and about Debating in general is in the Debating section of Redlands Pulse.
It is not too late to join Debating Club which runs on a Wednesday afternoon and is also conducted by Masters Academy. More information on how to register for this is here. Based on interest, we are looking into the possibility of running an extra day/time slot. Please register interest with Masters Academy info@mastersacademy.com.au if you can’t make it on a Wednesday.
Please read the Debating Expectations section under special programs on Redlands Pulse and feel free to chat with me or with Ela Kos, our Debating Captain about any queries you may have.
Lunch and Learn – Free public speaking workshops in school: Masters Academy is running two free lunch time sessions on Public Speaking (with nibbles provided) for students in L.1.4 on Thursday 7 March and Thursday 14 March. Anyone is welcome though classroom space is limited. Please ask your son or daughter to drop in.
