Congratulations to Leo Carroll
All at Redlands Dance Academy are extremely proud of Year 5 student Leo Carroll.
Leo has been in Germany attending the International Dance Organisation World Tap Championships and received 2nd place with his solo (Male Children’s Solo Section) and 3rd place with his Duo (Children’s Duo Section).
Massive achievement Leo, big congratulations to you! Can’t wait to see you perform at the End of Year Performance!
Dante Minassian
Dante Minassian has returned from Italy, inspired by a week of training at the prestigious La Scala Theatre Ballet School as part of his award from the Youth American Grand Prix. This experience opened his eyes to the world of ballet, and he can’t wait for the next step in his journey. This is Dante’s last term here at Redlands, and he will be performing for the last time on 16 November at Chatswood in our End of Year Performance.

End of Year Performance 2023 Rehearsals
Sunday 15 October Rehearsal: We will be working through each dance and will attempt to get all joining sections completed.
After this rehearsal we will be able to determine the schedule for the next rehearsal on Sunday 5 November. Please keep this date free.
We would also like to remind you of our final rehearsal on Saturday 11 November, where we will be doing final tweaking and cleaning. We will have full details next week.
Weekly Rehearsals: To ensure that the show is well rehearsed and ready for the stage we have weekly rehearsals, up until performance week. We have had to make a few small amendments to our existing weekly schedule. Please see below:

5.30-6.15pm: Int Found Ballet
6.15-7pm: Int Ballet
6-7pm: Adv 1 Ballet
6-7pm: Adv Found Ballet
7-8pm: Les Sylphides Grand Waltz (Senior Performance)
Wednesday
3.45-4.30pm: Year 5/6 Character

Friday
5.45-6pm: Bellgirls
7-8pm: Still Life Revellers (Year 8 Contemporary)
Saturday
11am-12pm: Ms Revie’s Rehearsal (selected students)
**12-1pm: Tap Y3/4 1-1.45pm: Tap Y3-6
*12-2pm: Jazz Y3/4
1-1.45pm: Senior Tap 1
1.45-2.30pm: Senior Tap 1 and 2
2.30-3pm: Senior Tap 2
We are aware that some Jazz Y3/4 students are unable to make it to school by 12pm. Therefore, we have a rolling class running 12pm-2pm. Please come as early as possible to this class.
Please note: Students who are enrolled in both Jazz Year 3/4 & Tap Year 3/4 will attend the Jazz class(*) for the first 45mins and then move to the Tap class(**). Rest assured, teachers will be on hand to coordinate.

“The Friends of Dance Committee will be having its AGM next Thursday, 19 October 2023 at 8:30am in Parkes Hall (studio P1.6).
We will also be having a sewing bee at the same time so please feel free to pop along and help or take items home for sewing/ironing.

CONGRATULATIONS – CALLBACK NOMINATIONS
A special congratulations to our HSC Dance students who have received Callback nominations from NESA for their outstanding performance and composition works. A Callback nomination is recognition of students’ exceptional skills in the HSC Dance course work – it is an amazing achievement!
