Information Morning | Monday 4 March 8:30-9:15am

We will be hosting an RDA Information morning on Monday 4 March in the Junior Library at 8.30-9.15am. This will give you a chance to meet our Head of Academy Ms Revie and find out what the year ahead looks like for your dancers. Virginia Clayton, Chair of Friends of Dance, will provide information on how you can get involved in our RDA events, and you will also meet the FoD team, who are keen to share their experiences as part of the Redlands Dance Community and how you can get involved.

Tereza Theodoulou at Jazz | Friday 8 March

Ms Vanessa has organised a huge treat for our Friday Jazz classes on 8 March. Tereza Theodoulou, lead Lecturer, Syllabus Creator and ISTD Senior Examiner will be workshopping the syllabus in classes and sharing her extraordinary knowledge and experience with the students. This is an amazing and unique experience for the Academy. Please read Tereza’s biog for further details.

Competitions and Performance Dates for 2024

The Academy is thrilled to be able to share our dates for our Dance Group Competitions and Performance opportunities.

We kick off with a chance to showcase all our new group and solo pieces at the RSL Anzac Village in Narrabeen. This special invitation is a wonderful way for Redlands Dance Academy students to give to the community, our hosts are very excited for our visit.

Following this event, we will be involved in IRBD, SPACE and Sydney Eisteddfod and the Senior Jazz Performer 2 will experience Light the Way.

The aim of Light the Way Dance Convention is to bring the industry together, to inspire and educate the next generation of Australian dancers. Students have a unique opportunity to join masterclasses taught by the greats in the industry and to perform at Australia’s newest state-of-the-art theatre Sydney Coliseum and the adjoining West HQ.

There are also some solo events coming up with students performing in the Joan and Monica Halliday and Isobel Anderson Awards, Australian Classical Challenge, AICD, Asian Grand Prix and the Contemporary Dance Open.

Please know that the most important aspect of these experiences is the process, so be consistent in your training and above all enjoy every moment of your learning.

Make sure to put all these dates into your diaries, exciting times ahead!

For Eisteddfod dates please see our EISTEDDFOD Pulse page.

Redlands Pulse

For the most up to date information on “all things Dance” including how to contact us if your child is sick or will miss their dance class, please visit the DANCE ACADEMY Pulse  page.

Below is Year 7 ballerina Azina, showing us her arabesque whilst away on camp last week, proof you can dance just about anywhere! Well done Azina!

Ms Antonia was back at the Academy on Saturday (24 February), taking photos during our classes. This was organised to give the Academy a good supply of photos for advertising etc. but we thought it would be nice for parents to have the chance to look through the photos, in case your child has been captured in any of the shots. Photos are available to buy, $15 per shot.
