Jumping For Joy at the End of Term 3!
Wow, it’s the end of Term 3 already and Ms Amanda’s Friday Kindergarten Ballet class were perfecting their skipping and jumping at last week’s class. Beautiful work everyone.
It really has been a busy and successful term at Redlands Dance Academy. Not only did we change our name, perform on the Sydney Opera House Stage, complete our RAD exams and enjoy an incredible evening at the Dance Awards, but we have almost finished our End of Year Performance pieces and are gearing up for our first ever ISTD exams.
Term Dates
For a list of Important Dates for Term 4 please see our Pulse page.
End of Year Performance (EoYP) Rehearsals
There is much to be done to ensure that we have a fabulous time at the Chatswood Concourse on 15 and 16 November.
Holiday Rehearsals (4-6 October)
We are looking forward to seeing you at the Holiday Rehearsals where we will be piecing together some of the moments where there is more than one group dancing together. We ask for your patience in these rehearsals as there will be a lot of you in the studio and much choreography to be created in a short period of time.
For further information please see our Holiday Rehearsals Pulse page.
Sunday Rehearsal (15 October)
We also have our first Sunday Rehearsal Schedule up on the EoYP Pulse Page. Please look and ensure that you can make these times. This rehearsal will be used for students to understand where their dances are in their performances and will be a very good indication for teachers on what needs to be worked on leading up to the shows.
Friends of Dance (FoD)
Parents, please look out for communication from our wonderful Friends of Dance regarding volunteering. There are lots of ways you can get involved in the preparation process with upcoming Sewing Bee’s and hair and make-up prep before the shows. Information will be up on the FoD Pulse page soon.
ISTD Exams
For those of you preparing for the ISTD exams, please look on the ISTD Pulse page for extra rehearsal. Dates, times and groups for the Exams will be posted very soon.
Final Words
Chookas to Year 7’s Juliet Whelan, who is taking part in the Youth American Grand Prix this weekend.

And lastly, a final farewell to our Year 12s, all the very best for your futures and keep dancing.

Dance Curriculum
YEAR 12 HSC + IB DANCE
Farewell to our amazing Year 12 Dance students. We wish you all the best for your future endeavours and thank you for your commitment and leadership throughout your time at Redlands. We can’t wait to see you shine in all you do!

Year 8, 9 and 10 Dance Excursion to WICKED
Last Thursday Years 8-10 Dance Curriculum students attended Wicked the Musical. What a night! I thoroughly enjoyed this musical from the dancing and singing to all of the special effects. It was also a wonderful opportunity for all of the dance students to come together and enjoy the musical. Wicked totally lives up to its Broadway hype. They take the Wizard of Oz story and give it this cool twist that makes you see those familiar characters in a whole new light. It’s like meeting old friends all over again, but with a fun, unexpected twist – Imogen Jeffery-Billich
