Community Update
It was lovely to welcome our Year 7 parents and carers at our Meet and Greet event held earlier this week on Fahl Garden. This event provided a terrific opportunity for our parents and carers to hear from our School and Year group leaders and to connect with our teaching and support staff along with other parents and carers of Year 7 students.
We are delighted to invite students, parents, carers and friends to our inaugural Count Her In International Women’s Day Breakfast here Redlands. Two incredible leaders and changemakers (The Hon. Bronnie Taylor – Deputy Leader of the NSW Nationals, Member of the NSW Legislative Council and Vicki Condon AM – Founder, CEO, Executive Director of Raise Foundation) will discuss their commitment to the creation of opportunities for women to earn, learn and lead. Tickets available here.
As we continue to transition to the new uniform, a Second Hand Uniform Sale of our old uniform will be held on Thursday 7 March at the Redlands Parent and Friends Association (RPFA) headquarters at 1 Monford Place. My thanks to the army of volunteers, led by the RPFA and Uniform Shop, for their assistance in delivering this important event. Clean pre-loved uniforms can be donated through the Uniform Shop. Proceeds from the sale will be dedicated towards the means-tested Redlands Foundation Scholarship Fund and more detail can be found in the RPFA section of today’s Note Day.
A reminder that an exclusive opportunity exists for our parent and alumni community to experience an extraordinary program on country through our Redlands Midawarr Trip in May this year. This is quite literally a once in a lifetime experience to deeply explore miny’tji (art), manikay (song), bunggul (dance) and story-telling at Gulkula, the site of the annual Garma Festival.
Our Principal, Mr Sean Corcoran will be joining our parents and alumni on this trip, sharing this unique experience with our community. Gather a group of friends, a friend or join the wider group for this once in a lifetime experience not to be missed. Places on this exclusive trip can now be reserved by competing a booking form which can be accessed here.
I remain grateful for the continued guidance and support our community provides and, as ever, please don’t hesitate to reach out to me directly or the wider Community Engagement team should you have any feedback, suggestions or questions.
