Community Update
Community
It was a genuine pleasure to host the Redlander Alumni Awards last Friday evening where our alumni were honoured, recognised and celebrated for the extraordinary achievements locally and globally during an evening of celebration, connection and collaboration. We are proud to nurture and develop these important connections with our community through our dedicated alumni engagement program. Congratulations to all of our award winners and my thanks to the organising committee and judging panel for bringing this wonderful event to life in its second year. A detailed list of our award winners, along with an update on our Springtime Auction and Melbourne Cup event events, can be found in the Foundation section of Note Day.
It was a pleasure to attend the Junior and Secondary School Parent Contact Group (PCG) Meetings this week. Our PCGs continue to explore ways to keep our community connected, included and supported within the many and varied aspects of school life. A reminder that parents and carers who are interested in shaping the future of the School are invited and encouraged to attend the Redlands Parents and Friends Association Annual General Meeting (AGM) to be held in Room 1.4 on Level 1 of the Liggins Building (Senior Campus) at 6.30pm on Thursday October 26. This is a great opportunity for new parents to hear how our Association works within, and for, our valued community. If you are interested in a position within the RPFA then please have a look at this document that details the various roles and responsibilities.
A reminder that bookings are now open for the Redlands Parent and Carer Midawarr Arnhem Land Trip scheduled from Sunday 26 to Thursday 30 May 2024. To whet your appetite on what you might experience on this once in a lifetime trip, click here to watch a video of our 2023 Year 9 cohort and their teachers immerse themselves in this ancient culture. This is quite literally a once in a lifetime opportunity to deeply explore miny’tji (art), manikay (song), bunggul (dance) and story-telling at Gulkula, the site of the annual Garma Festival. Places on this exclusive trip can now be reserved by completing a booking form which can be accessed HERE.
Thank you for your continued guidance and support and as ever, please don’t hesitate to reach out to the Community Engagement team, or to me directly, should you have any feedback, suggestions or questions.
