Community Update

Community Update

It has been lovely to experience the coming together of staff, students, staff, alumni, our Board and special guests in celebration of Heritage Week. As a community, we value the relationships we have with each other. Our students past and present, families, staff and members of local and global communities are valued and included through a shared connection with Redlands. Foundation Day, to be celebrated tomorrow, provides us with the unique opportunity to share and connect our past with the present and future of the School.

Our Liggins Building, a precious part of Redlands’ heritage, is the only remaining element of our school grounds that links 100 years of Redlanders. Originally known as Liggins House, the building was opened on 9 May 1923 in honour of Redlands’ co-founder Elizabeth Liggins. Throughout its history, our community has generously supported some of its upgrades, including the 2007 Liggins Atrium Project enjoyed by students today. As the Liggins Building celebrates its centenary year, we continue on a significant restoration to help preserve its historic façade and refurbish the interior to provide an exceptional learning environment for our students and staff. For more information on how you can support this treasured building can be found here.

Last Friday, we were delighted to welcome more than 200 of our most recent alumni back on campus.  It was wonderful to see the connection and reconnection of our students with each other and the School. Our alumni of Redlanders can be found locally and globally. We continue to ensure the important connections with our community are nurtured and developed through Redlands dedicated alumni engagement program that includes interstate and international reunions and networking opportunities and a quarterly newsletter. We greatly value the relationships we have with our Alumni and our aim is to continue to support a lifelong connection and engagement to the School.

Tickets for the highly anticipated Redlands Gala Ball are selling fast.  There are still tickets available and a reminder that all proceeds from this gala fundraising event will benefit the Dr Sue Morey AM Scholarship Appeal. For more information on tickets and sponsorship of this uniquely Redlands event, along with information on our Annual Giving program, please visit the Foundation section of today’s Note Day.

I remain grateful for the continued guidance and support our community provides and, as ever, please don’t hesitate to reach out to the Community Engagement team should you have any feedback, suggestions or questions.

Kindest regards
