Community Update

It was a real treat for me to join our alumni for the Platinum Girls Luncheon this week. This popular and much-loved event welcomes Redlanders who attended the School more than 50 years ago, providing a wonderful opportunity to acknowledge and celebrate the enduring and diverse experiences, friendships and achievements of our former students. Our cherished alumni thoroughly enjoyed each other’s company and delighted in the speeches and musical performances provided by our talented students. The recollections of Ms Barbara Wellesly AM (RL 1955) were particularly engaging as she recounted her time at Redlands through the 1940s and 50s.  My thanks to the Class of 1970 who hosted me at their table and also to all those that contributed to this successful event.

It was a pleasure to attend the Junior and Secondary School Parent Contact Group (PCG) Meetings this week. Our PCGs continue to explore ways to keep our community connected, included and supported within the many and varied aspects of school life. If you are looking to connect with our community for support or guidance then please reach out to the passionate and diverse experience of our class and year group parents, the RPFA  and Friends of Groups.

The Redlands community is again rallying to support life-saving breast cancer research through participation in the annual Mother’s Day Classic. 57 Australians are diagnosed with breast cancer and 9 Australians will lose their life to this disease each day. Your support of Team Redlands, through the National Breast Cancer Foundation (NBCF), will fund life-saving research to improve breast cancer detection, develop new treatments, and allow people with breast cancer to live longer and better lives.  Your support of Team Redlands can be activated here.

I remain grateful for the continued guidance and support our community provides and, as ever, please don’t hesitate to reach out to the Community Engagement team should you have any feedback, suggestions or questions.

Kindest regards
