Community Update
It has been lovely to see and hear how our community has been connecting through the first few weeks of term. The Redlands Parents and Friends Association (RPFA), Parent Contact Groups (PCGs) and Friends of Groups (FoGs) have all been actively engaged in connecting, including and informing our new and current families.
We recognise the vital relationship between home and school and provide opportunities for parents and carers to actively engage with the School. Volunteering is a wonderful opportunity to meet other Redlands parents and to be involved with the School. Volunteer opportunities include classroom support, event support, Uniform Shop assistance, RPFA involvement or joining one of the Friends of Groups that support our many and varied Cocurricular activities. For more information on these opportunities along with upcoming events and group activities please visit the RPFA section of Note Day.
We look forward to welcoming our community to the popular Twilight in the Garden event next Friday night. This much loved event provides a wonderful opportunity for our new families to connect with our School community on the Fahl Garden on our Senior Campus. We are expecting this to be another sold out event so please purchase your tickets early here.
It was a pleasure to welcome back on campus some of our newest alumni from the Class of 2022 and their families for the Academic Achievement and Growth Assembly yesterday. This event recognised and celebrated the academic successes from last year’s HSC and IB students. As our new alumni commence their journey beyond the School gates, we continue to ensure that they are connected and supported by the School and their local and global network of Redlanders. Our alumni engagement program includes mentoring and networking programs, interstate and international reunions, a seasonal newsletter and more in order to support a lifelong connection to the School. More information on our alumni engagement program, including international and interstate chapter meetings, can be found here.
Redlands is a school in the Anglican tradition that seeks to provide students and our wider community with the opportunity to understand the Christian faith in a relevant and accessible way. Each term our School Chaplains provide our community with the opportunity to come together in prayer and encouragement. The first of these events will be held on Monday 13 February from 7.00 to 8.00pm in the David Armstrong Room at St Peter’s Church, Cremorne (with parking located on Waters Rd).
I remain grateful for the continued guidance and support our community provides and, as ever, please don’t hesitate to reach out to the Community Engagement team should you have any feedback, suggestions or questions.
All the best for 2023.
