Community Update

It was a pleasure to welcome parents, grandparents, students and carers onto the Senior Campus late last week for our Secondary School Open morning. Students from Year 9, supported by our leadership team, hosted small group tours answering questions and providing a wonderful insight into life at Redlands for our guests.

We were also delighted to host more than a hundred of our Alumni community (our Redlanders) back onsite late last week where School memories and reconnections were shared and celebrated by those attending 20 and 40 year reunions. Our alumni of Redlanders can be found locally and globally. We continue to ensure the important connections with our community are nurtured and developed through Redlands dedicated alumni engagement program that includes interstate and international reunions and networking opportunities and a quarterly newsletter. We greatly value the relationships we build with our Alumni and our aim is to support a lifelong connection to the School.  For more information on our reunions, including a spotlight on an award winning Redlander, check out the Foundation section in today’s Note Day.

Further to the developments in our digital footprint with Redlands Pulse and the Redlands App this year, we are delighted to advise that the new Redlands website will go live early next week. Our new website employs leading innovations in user experience and design, a clean and contemporary look, a stronger use of imagery and videography and a move towards single-page exposure. We hope you like it and welcome any feedback.

A reminder that the North Sydney Community Awards remain open, providing the perfect opportunity to acknowledge local people who make a difference in our community and the North Sydney LGA. Award categories include Community Builder, Next generation, Eco Warrior, Trailblazer and Living Legend. Nominations close on 10 December and further information on these awards can be found on the North Sydney Council website here.

Our motto, ‘Let your light shine’, is a phrase taken from The Sermon on the Mount, ‘Let your light shine before others, that they may see your good deeds and praise your Father in Heaven’ (Matthew 5:16 NIV). At Redlands we aim to provide extensive opportunities to enable each student’s light to shine and to foster the light in those around them, and those who need support.

The Redlands Parent Prayer Group (convened by Sally Swan) is holding an End of Term Prayer Gathering on Wednesday 23 November from 6.30-7.30pm in the Armstrong Room at St Peters Cremorne. All parents are warmly invited to join for a time of prayer and thanksgiving. The evening will provide the opportunity to join with the Principal and the new Secondary School Chaplain as we express gratitude for the faithful service of Stephen Webber at Redlands.

‘Let your light shine’ is an ethos we carry in all our endeavours and I remain grateful for the guidance and support that our community so generously continue to provide. Please don’t hesitate to reach out to the Community Engagement team should you have any feedback, suggestions or questions.
