Community Update

The Redlands community spirit was on full display late last week as we were able to gather together in celebration and acknowledgement of the School’s distinguished history of science and innovation at the Redlands Science and Innovation Luncheon.  We were blessed with an extraordinary panel of speakers from our alumni who spoke passionately about their experiences and ground breaking achievements, all stitched together by our effervescent Masters of Ceremonies. Thank you to those members of our community who so generously supported this event through the donation of prizes and sponsorship, and of course we are most grateful to those who kindly gave in the form of their time, raffles, donations and auction bids. With your support we have raised over $40,000 towards the means-tested Dr Sue Morey AM Scholarship. For more information and photos of the Science and Innovation Lunch, please visit our Foundation section.

This week we welcomed back Dr Tessa Opie from ‘In Your Skin: Relationships and Sexuality Education’, who presented another engaging information session for Redlands parents and carers on ‘Respectful Relationships Education: At School and in the Home’. Dr Opie continues to partner with us as we further develop and implement our relationships, consent and sexuality education programs across the School.

Our Parent Contact Groups (PCGs) continue to keep our community connected, included and supported within the many and varied aspects of school life. A number of community events still remain in the calendar for Term 2 and these can be found here.

Save the Date – we are delighted to announce that the School will be hosting our traditional Spring Fair on Saturday 3 September. We will share further details of this much loved Redlands community event as the year unfolds.

Thank you to those parents that I met at events and while I was out and about this week for sharing your time and feedback with me.

I remain grateful for the continued guidance and support our community provides and, as ever, please don’t hesitate to reach out to the Community Engagement team should you have any feedback, suggestions or questions.
